mr.bubble
When my wife and I were registering for her baby shower we came across all of the bath items for young children.  Currently offered are a myriad of bath soaps and shampoos for children, but a favorite from my past wasn’t present: Mr.Bubble.  Not to be confused with this guy.

I scoffed, “What has happened to the world? Where is Mr.Bubble? He is supposed to be here to make bath time fun for children across America.”

”Oh, they don’t make that anymore.  They found out it was dangerous for little girls because it caused problems with their vaginas”, replied my loving wife, whom I am an advocate for.

I couldn’t believe this.  When I was a kid Mr.Bubble dominated the bubble bath scene and I don’t remember any girls having problems with their vaginas because of him.  Not that I knew they had vaginas then. But that’s beside the point.  Mr.Bubble was a good guy and I believe he still is.

I knew I had to dispel this myth that has sullied the good name of Mr.Bubble, so I started doing some research on the Interwebs.  There were a number of people questioning the myth, but only anecdotal evidence was ever provided as to why he was so destructive to the female anatomy.

Finally though, I have found the one piece of evidence showing that Mr.Bubble is just as safe for kids today as it was back then, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services data sheet on Mr.Bubble. You can clearly see that Mr.Bubbles is not only safe, but that it also does not contain any harmful chemicals.

So once and for all to put an end to this myth, Mr.Bubble is completely safe.  I mean, this information has been thoroughly studied by our Federal government and when have they ever been wrong?

My daughter had a 25 minute Mr. Bubble bath when she was 4. Her usual Mr. Bubble baths were about 10 min, but she was having lots of fun so got to stay in the tub. That night we had her in the hospital emergency room. Her eyes were fluttering and rolling back in her head. She was moaning and squirming. Her hands hovered around her little vagina but didn’t touch it. The doctors took my husband in another room and gave him the 3rd degree about sexual abuse. But I knew it was the Mr. Bubble. Her vagina was chemically burned, she suffered nerve damage, and manifestations of the severe damage have plagued her life most unpleasantly ever since. She is 32 now, and they still crop up. Don’t tell me Mr. Bubble is safe.

I must agree. If you use the Mr Bubble you cannot put more than a capful in the bath and you cannot leave your daughter in ther for more than 30 minutes. We didn’t go to the ER like J Kremer, but we did deal with several days of ouchy private parts. The same can be said for to much of other soaps though so don’t be to hard on MR bubble and don’t let your toddler dump your shampoo into the bathtub.
